Spanish Language Classes are designed to meet a wide variety of needs. Introduction to Spanish is a 3-session course designed for individuals without any Spanish language background. The instructor will introduce learners to Spanish pronunciation, some vocabulary and social protocols.

Spanish in Action (Español en Acción) is our comprehensive Spanish education program. It offers instruction at four levels of difficulty, with emphasis given to reading and listening comprehension, oral and written expression, as well as grammar and vocabulary.

Spanish A La Carta is a new online program designed to support learners and practitioners of Spanish. It is an eclectic offering of two or three session seminars taught via ZOOM designed to improve listening and conversational skills.

The English as a Second Language Program offers the Mexican community an opportunity to learn English from the basics to advanced conversation. The program has been taught since 1999 by a cadre of volunteer ex-pats. Registration occurs during August and attracts over 300 students each year, ranging in age from 15 to 85. The students are only responsible for paying for their books and attending class twice a week.

The Children’s Art Program (CAP) started by Neill James in 1954, still flourishes through the support of the Lake Chapala Society (LCS) and many dedicated volunteers. The program is free of charge, and all children are welcome. For program information contact: education@lcsac.org
