PHOTOGRAPHY CLASS FOR CHILDREN
In our increasingly digital world, where ideas are often communicated and debated with light pens and tablets and computers, and smartphones are replacing cameras, visual literacy is becoming as necessary to rapid and cogent communication as verbal literacy. And for Mexican children, half of whom are already being left behind by the technology tsunami, it is critical! Critical to their intellectual, psychological and socio-political development. We often hear, "What you see is what you get." Perhaps. But just as likely is, "What you don't see is what you may get." That is why what might be called intelligent seeing is just as important a component of understanding as intelligent listening, if one is to have some chance of understanding one's micro and macro environments and deciding how to respond. |
