Cooperation Makes Our Community Great

Historically, The Lake Chapala Society has been composed of individual members. Programming and services were designed to benefit the membership and the needs of larger community as perceived by the membership. Though we have played an important role in the lakeside community during our 60+ year existence, the current Board of the LCS has become aware that the natural tendency to talk and plan amongst ourselves can only limit our impact.

In March, 2019, the LCS Board released a long-range plan, titled Lake Chapala Society 2.0...EXTENDING OUR LEGACY as an oasis for personal enrichment, socialization and collaboration throughout Lakeside! Within this plan, the Board articulates a number of objectives for our future, including the following:

• 2.2) create relationships between the LCS and leaders within the Mexican and foreign community that create greater opportunities for collaboration;
• 2.3) morph our programs, services and activities in ways which will serve community needs while at the same time more fully integrating the Mexican and foreign communities;

Local businesses and civic organizations are important contributors to the quality of life enjoyed by all residents and visitors to our lakeside communities. To advance the above objectives, LCS has created a new type of sponsorship designed to encourage business and civic groups to play a greater role in our shared experience.
